Torus for iPhone becomes the first iPhone video game to offer 3D printed achievements. Torus is a free apps for puzzle on iPhone & iPad Games, developed by Mark S. Morris. You catch tori as they fall from the sky by tilting your device to slide the base hook around the play area. You take damage each time a torus hits your base or the floor, but you can replace health points by catching the glowing green tori that appear when you are in danger.
Reward Torus 3D prints are unlocked for purchase at 3000, 6000, 9000 and 12,000 points. An achievement 3D print is also unlocked for just completing your first game. After completing the game a link will be displayed to order this Polished Alumide (nylon and aluminum) 3d print from Shapeways.
All Torus rings are 3D printed by Shapeways with a different material reflecting its score value and color in the game.
Reward tori models are unlocked as you progress through the game high score ranks:
- 3000+ points: White Strong & Flexible (nylon plastic)
- 6000+ points: Coral Red Strong & Flexible (nylon plastic)
- 9000+ points: White Detail (acrylic-based photopolymer)
- 12000+ points: Stainless Steel (bronze infused)
- Base Hook: Black Strong & Flexible (nylon plastic)
Currently the 3D model of base hook is available for free download in the uplink.to Shapeways shop.
Each Torus ring is approximately 4 centimeters (1.6 inches) in diameter and 1 centimeter (0.4 inches) high. The rings fit over the base hook 3d print. The hook cylinder is 8 mm wide, and the base itself is 5 centimeters (2 inches) by 5 centimeters. A unique, colorful desk set of base 3D print and achievement Tori is formed by the base and rings as you progress through the game.
