2013 is a year of more rapid advances in technology, and while we think we are so trendy, someone else has been dreaming up stuff like 3D printing nearly 50 years ago. And that was Superman, according to this cartoon from 1964!

See the little parts flying away? It's a subtractive process like milling, not an additive one like 3D printing.
