Cody Wilson, designer of 3-D printed gun has a quarter-million dollar book deal. Gallery Books announced Wednesday that it is publishing Cody Wilson's "Negative Liberty: A Gun Printer's Guide to the Apocalypse."
Gallery Books is an imprint of Simon & Schuster. In a statement issued by his publisher, Wilson said his book would be a manifesto for "millennials and radicals" fighting state oppression in the digital age. "Negative Liberty" is set to be released in fall 2015.
You might recall that Wilson, a University of Texas law student who made the Liberator, a fully-functional plastic firearm that can be created using a 3D-printer. when he made headlines last year after posting blueprints of the Liberator online for using 3-D printers, the State Department asked him to remove the blueprints, which were downloaded more than 100,000 times.
More recently the 25-year-old law-school dropout also works with the libertarian developer group Unsystem on Dark Wallet, a software aimed at covering the tracks of financial transactions made with the virtual currency bitcoin. "We love Bitcoin and the way it empowers and reorients individual and community commerce." says Wilson. "If Bitcoin represents anything to us, it's the ability to forbid the government. DarkWallet is your way of locking out the State, flipping the channel to one beyond observation."

While at first being disappointed in the weaponization of 3d-printing tech while watching the documentary "Print the Legend", I found that, if anything, the issues Cody brought up were more relevant and interesting, in the context of social justice, than the uninteresting story of yet another capitalist sellout. The question of ideology, of sticking to it, despite the pressure from intimidating corporations is the main thing to take away from the contrast between MB, Formlabs, Stratasys and 3D systems.

Cody needs to tell the government that he's now a jihad muslim, so they can't call him terrorist anymore, and they best they can do is get on their knees and blow him.
