Desktop 3D printer manufacturer German RepRap announced today that it has developed a new 3D printer for commercial customers.
The new printer, based on fused filament fabrication (FFF) technology, boasts a printing volume of 1000x800x600 mm and is ideal for producing prototypes and fully functional models.
This first product of their new professional series is based on the knowledge gained from users of German RepRap's X400 3D printer, who wanted to print larger objects or a number of smaller ones in parallel.
"Our goal is to offer a complete range of products for commercial customers", explains Florian Bautz, managing director of German RepRap. But the new printer is not an enlarged X400, it has been developed from the ground up.
The new 3D printer for professional users features multi-extruder-technology, intelligent filament management and an intuitive user interface. With a layer height of 0.5 mm even large models can be printed very quickly in draft mode.
The new printer for large models will be presented on the upcoming Euromold fair (Nov.25~28) in Frankfurt/M., Germany.
