Massimo Moretti, founder of WASP, will bring a 4 meter tall Delta 3D printer to Maker Faire Rome this coming weekend.
Two years ago Wasp, one of the largest 3D printer manufacturer in Italy, announced its plan to find low cost solutions for 3D printing houses to solve the house problems in the world.
And now the company is ready to present its work at Rome Maker Faire on 3rd, 4th and 5th of October.
Wasp has built a 6 meters tall 3D printer capable of printing buildings in clay which is available for sale.
"For pratical reasons we will bring to Rome a smaller sized version, a 4 meters tall printer," explains Massimo Moretti, craftman and the soul of Wasp project. "We will print a mixture made of clay and sand. It takes weeks to print a real house, so we will print a smaller building because we only have two days."
Moretti and his team started the WASP (the acronym of World Advanced Saving Project) by producing and selling desktop 3D printers. The desktop 3D printer business finances Wasp's research to create a giant printer for house printing.
"We have a big goal, and we work everyday, step by step, to achieve it," said Moretti. "We have created the first commerciable extruder for clay, porcelain and ceramic, to give the possibility to produce objects that have a function and commercial value. Thanks to clay printing it is possible to provide people with self-produced houses that are practical to use."
"The work and progress are the cornerstones of our thinking." concludes Massimo Moretti.
