A Total Disruption, a YouTube channel about innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs who are changing our lives, recently produced a video about Bespoken Innovations featuring their founder & CEO Scott Summit.
There are nearly 2 million people with amputations in the United States. With a mission to bring more humanity to amputees, startup company Bespoke Innovations is using advances in 3D printing to create prosthetic limb casings wrapped in embroidered leather, shimmering metal or any material a customer might want.
In May 2012, 3D Systems (NYSE:DDD) acquired Bespoke Innovations and integrated Bespoke into its growing healthcare solutions services and leverage its integrated scan, design and print technology and knowhow to develop and commercialize a full range of innovative, ventilated and lightweight custom fit prosthetics, orthotics and orthopedics.
This video was chosen from hundreds of films to be a finalist in GE's Focus Forward Competition.
