At World Maker Faire New York in September 2013, Jenny Kortina and Brett Cupta demonstrated their Blokify, a simplified 3d modeling iOS application that allows everyone, including children, to easily build custom and 3d print anything they can imagine.

If you have kids that love Lego and like to build things, they should definitely try Blokify. As a fresh start for 2014, Jenny Kortina and Brett Cupta launched Blokify on Apple Store. The app is now available for iPhone & iPad for free, and Android version is coming soon.

Through block-based modeling software, Blokify enables users to interact with the blocks, to flip, turn, and manipulate the blocks, on a touch-sceen device using gestures. It features themed environments and textured blocks, along with models and background music to make your designing process full of fun. The team has also made available many different kinds of textured blocks and models that can be purchased either individually or bundled through kits, so you can build broader and more complex objects.

Aside from making 3D models at the iPad, with one-click wireless 3D printing, Blokify powers and moves ideas through the virtual space and into the physical world. Users can send their creation to their home printer, or use Blokify's 3D printing service.

To celebrate Blokify's launch, Blokify team is running a contest that gives makers and designers the opportunity to tap their creative side for a chance to win a Cube 3D printer. All you need to do is to download free Blokify from the iOS store and create an awesome model. The contest runs from January 2 until January 9 at midnight. Check out the details here.

The Blokify team will bring their project to International CES 2014 next week, you may want to check out there.
