3D Systems expands 3DPRINTING 2.0 at CES 2014 with a dozen new consumer product reveals. Two months after releasing company's first 3D scanner "Sense", 3D Systems is offering another tool for creating 3D models. 3D Systems announced today the debut of its haptic-based, consumer 3D mouse for intuitive 3D sculpting and design, the Touch, with instant force feedback that mimics the sense of physical sculpting.
The Touch works with 3DS' Cubify Sculpt, a virtual clay sculpting tool that lets users design 3D creations from scratch starting with a box, sphere or cylinder of virtual clay from existing templates.
Priced at $499, including Cubify Sculpt software, the Touch is expected to available during the second quarter of 2014 and will be on display for the first time at the 2014 International CES in Las Vegas.
3DMe Photobooth
In addition 3D Systems also revealed today its 3DMe Photobooth, a compact, integrated physical photography pod that brings the entire 3DMe experience directly to the retail floor and event space. Powered by 3DS' consumer cloud-hosting, publishing platform, the new 3DMe Photobooth is capable of instant, full-color, realistic 3D face capture for intuitive mashing with a host of personalized and licensed figurines on a large scale.
The company plans to commence commercial shipment of its 3DMe Photobooth during the second quarter of 2014.
