Fedor Gridnev and Elena Gaidar want to bring affordable and advanced fabrication right to your desk. Their 5axis multi-fabricator is a machine that has versatility to fabricate complicated design prototypes on your desktop.

"We felt limited by typical desktop machines which either use only plastic or severely limited by geometry they can produce or are too small to make useful prototypes." writes the team.

Their 5AxisMaker is a multi fabricator - you can simply swap the tool head and it becomes a different type of machine. The machine includes a set of tools like CNC mill, touch-probe, 3d printer, waterjet, wire-cutter and have a potential for further add-ons. You could attach a 3d printing head and start printing objects, or use a touch probe to scan physical objects in to 3d models.

You would need to purchase Mach3 software to control the machine from your computer. But to make it more affordable, the team is also developing a Grasshopper 5 axis CAM script that creates 5 axis tool-path from cad models.

You will be able to back this 5axis multi-fabricator tomorrow on Kickstarter. The machine will come ready assembled complete with all the electronics.

For the batch at cost of £4,499 ($7,333, €5,716), you will get a base 5axismaker: 5axis machine + 1milling tool head + Set of Tools (Touchprobe, 3dprinter, Wire-cutter, Adaptor for other tools).
