Shapeways user EYEDEA, a visual artist, inventor, and musician has made a few very interesting stuff. One is the 4D player kit that comes with 5 parts that snap together, no battery is needed.
Another one is hand-cranked programmable, 3D printed kalimba sequencer. It is like a music box. "Pegs can be set to produce different 16-step sequences of 5 tones."
