This week Noe and Pedro Ruiz of Adafruit Industries has come up another awesome 3D printing project: 8-bit retro Mario Clouds, a wearable Mari Clouds pendant featuring animated scrolling clouds.

The "Mari Clouds" enclosure was modeled in free 3D modeling software 123D Design. The Gameboy-inspired design makes it extremely adorable. This teeny 1.44" TFT display comes in at 128×128 and interfaces with the pro trinket micro-controller over SPI using Adafruit Arduino libraries.

3D printable parts are optimized to print with any desktop 3D Printers capable of printing in ABS or PLA material with a minimum build area of 100mm x 100mm x 90mm. Noe and Pedro suggest using PLA material for an easier print with high quality. And the parts are designed to print without any support material.

The tiny buttons need to be printed separately, and they can be painted or printed in different colored filament. Adafruit recommend printing these pieces with slow feed and travel rates (about 45/50mms). Printing all five parts should take about one hour to print.

You can find the original design files and a full tutorial showing how to print, assemble and build one on the Mari Clouds project page here.
