Italy-based Boris Landoni and his team started builidng their version of Mendel with three goals: ease of installation, Prusa Mendel comparable performance, compatibility with RepRap electronics, firmware and software.
Pursuing these goals led to the birth of 3D printer 3Drag. It is made of aluminum profiles and each part is designed to be light and strong for the suppression of vibrations and unwanted resonance.
The 3Drag printer is compact and has a low center of gravity, aligned with the two belts. The printer uses the X / Y for printing plane and Z for the cart. This configuration allows to simplify the extrusion system which no longer have to move on a horizontal axis. It is simply fixed to the structure that moves along the Z axis.
