Supermodel Coco Rocha started modeling almost 10 years ago. Now she has become a regular fixture on the fashion scene, appearing on the runways for a lot of big brands like Versace, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel and Balenciaga.

Positioning herself as one of the most digitally-savvy models of her generation, Coco has built a fan base by showcasing a behind-the-scenes look through social media platforms she runs herself. She has more than 7 million fans followers on 13 different media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, Weido (Chinese Twitter) etc.

One of her favourite designer is Iris van Herpen who is known for being todays leading fashion designer in the use of 3d printing.

"Iris van Herpen has been pioneering the use of 3-D printing in fashion for a few years now and with really amazing results. I'm hoping others in the industry take note and explore the possibilities! I find Iris' work with 3-D printing technology more of a hybrid of architecture and sculpture than anything. It's really amazing to see shapes and designs that were previously incomprehensible are now possible. I also think that laser-etched clothing will allowing designers the ability to create patterns in fabric that would have been impossible to do by hand. It's like moving from finger painting to working with a fine sable hair paint brush." says Rocha in an interview with Decode Fashion.

Most recently, Coco Rocha visited the Shapeways factory in NYC to investigate "how 3D printing will change the world of fashion in the very near future".

After learning how to program Shapeways' 3D printers, Coco sat down with Shapeways stuff to discuss some of the recent stories in 3D printed fashion, such as the gown for Dita Von Teese, the collection with Kimberly Ovitz and thousands of designs from the Shapeways community inspiring designers around the world. Maybe it won't take long that we would see Coco Rocha on the runway at fashion show with 3D printed dress or jewelry.
