Leapfrog introduces fully assembled plug-and-play 3D printers to mass marketDutch startup Leapfrog will soon bring fully assembled high quality 3D printers to mass market.

Martijn Otten, owner of Leapfrog: "The advantage of our printers is that our price for a fully assembled printer is considerably lower than our competitors, but the quality and design are better."

Leapfrog wants to fill in the gap between DIY 3D printer and high end machines with their two easy-to-use and affordable 3D printers starting at 1250 euros.

The entry-level model of Leapfrog is Creatr. This plug-and-play device is made of laser-cut aluminum components, a fairly robust construction. It has a large build size of 300 x 250 x 260 mm and a high positioning accuracy of the print head. The creatr use ABS and PLA as materials and a quick-load drawer system is designed for changing cartridge easily. The heated bed can be heated up to 90°C / 194°F.
