Yamada Denki, Japan's largest discount consumer electronics retailer announced today that it has teamed up with Iguazu, a member of JB Group and one of Japan's largest tech companies to enter into 3D printer market.

Yamada Denki says it would start selling three 3D printer models manufactured by 3D Systems in its Ikebukuro store, Tokyo in early August. With more than 700 stores in Japan, Yamada Denki plans to expand the 3D printer business to whole country.

Under agreement, Iguazu, as a distributor of 3D Systems will supply 3D printers as well as maintenance services. The first three models available for the Japanese market are two household 3D printers "Cube", "Cube X " and one corporate model ProJet 3500.

As a pilot store, Yamada Denki LABI 1 Ikebukuro will conduct modeling services in the store, as well as experience events in the near future. Currently it is planning a summer vacation for 3D printing experience event for children.
