Britain gets its own FBI with new National Crime Agency (NCA). The UK government launched a new FBI-like crime-fighting agency on Monday and unveiled a revamped strategy to combat serious organised crime, which it says costs the country 24 billion pounds ($38.6 billion) and represents a threat to national security.
The "Britain's FBI" will focus on organised, economic and cyber crime, border policing and child sex abuse.
Theresa May, the Home Secretary said NCA will also fight the growing threat of guns made with 3D printers. She said: "This is a matter that has become of increasing concern." She didn't give details of these measures ― but denied there would be an outright ban on 3D printers. An NCA's strategy document said: "We need to develop counter-measures for the imminent risk that 3D printing will facilitate the manufacture of weapons."
The world's first fully 3D-printed gun was developed and successfully fired in the U.S in the spring. Last month, as part of London Design Festival, London's V&A Museum acquired two prototypes of the Liberator gun.
Charles Farr, the Director of the Office for Security and Counter-Terrorism at the United Kingdom's Home Office, claimed British crooks had yet to produce a "fully functioning firearm" with a 3D printer. Officials are also concerned what other weapons could be developed with 3D printing in the future.

Better they would make more efforts that 3D-print came already to that level at which it will be able to provide production of any quality things necessary for the person with the minimum expenses at the expense of recycle materials and use of renewable energy. After that to people hardly will come to mind to use 3D-print for the weapon printing if on them it is possible to print the majority from this that to the person can be necessary. It much better than to feed one more crowd of idlers on taxpayers money.
