Sam Abbot from the Netherlands, a talented artist who works at a pioneering company of 3D printed designs won the competition hosted by CGTrader and 3D Print UK last month. He is the winner of the Best 3D Printable Model Portfolio. "Sam Abbott Design has bribed the jury with his objects that are simple, but delicately modeled to the smallest parts." writes CGTrader. "Abbot won for the most versatile collection and intricate details in all of the 30 models submitted".
Sam Abbot won his prize: a 3D printer and his own modeled Skateboard got printed. 3D Print UK shared the video and photos of the 3D printing process of the Skateboard last week (see below). They write:
"It wasn't quite as strait forward as just a print as the board is longer than our build tray, meaning that we had to cut it into 3 sections, joining it together with some connector pins to ensure accuracy and to give it some strength over a simple butt joint. The final result….. the worlds first 3d printed twin tip skateboard."
"Is it ride-able? Yes… but I wouldn't drop down many sets of stairs on it just yet!"

Would be nice see this skateboard printed in aluminum (and adding some special hinges for strength purposes). This pattern on lower surface is amazing

ok, nm i just watched the video, its three pieces, neat but still looks super sketch, im sure youll see all the people who hang up boards and dont ride wanting one of these.

Theres an obvious seem like 2/3 way into it, so i would say probably not ridable.
