R-360 is a simple and foldable 3D printer developed by Replicator Warehouse team in UK. The Modular design allows you to fold it up for traveling without compromise on printing volume. All plastic parts are 3D printable so users can just print their own replacement parts when needed.

The R-360 has a unique rotating printing bed which can be used for 3D scanning (3rd party scanner is required). The kit has much less parts than a RepRap machine and is partially pre-assembled. It is claimed it takes only an hour to build it up.

Users are offered a free cloud slicing service called Slicer Cloud for their R-360 printer. The Slicer Cloud will process your files on a cluster of powerful online servers and you can upload your files and get them prepared for printing easily.

The kit comes with RAMPS 1.4 with Arduino mega2560 rev3, and 5x A4988 motor controllers.

Specs:

  • Nozzle dimention: 0.4mm
  • Layer thickness: 0.1mm - 0.3mm
  • Printing speed up to 150mm/s
  • Traveling speed up to 250mm/s
  • All motors are bipolar Nema 17 running on 12Volts
  • Memory card reader

Replicator Warehouse team has made a comparison of R-360 and Makerbot Replicator 2, see below:

R-360 is seeking £30,000 in funds on Kickstarter. A R-360 partially pre-assembled kit is priced at £349 ($559) for early backers. The R-360 3D printer is also open source, according to the team, the printer design will be released in 2014.
